Admission to Professional Education

CRITERIA 

The criteria for admission to Professional Education for all teacher preparation programs can be found in the Catalog.

All teacher preparation programs admit to Professional Education in Fall semesters. Students should complete the Professional Education Admission Form by the March 1st prior to their desired admit Fall.

PROCEDURE TIMELINE ACTION STEPS

February

Students submit their admissions application. Students should schedule an advising appointment to review their current degree progress and plan enrollment for the coming academic year. Contact the JHCOE Student Services Office to schedule your appointment by phone or email – 419.530.2495 or JHCOEAdvising@utoledo.edu.

March/April

Students who have not yet met with their advisor should do so.

While students will not be able to register for any Professional Education courses until they have been officially admitted, they are still able to register for any other courses needed for the upcoming year and should do so when their registration window open.

May

JHCOE will review submitted applications after the faculty grade submission deadline for Spring has passed. Students will receive an email with their application results.

Admitted students should finalize their schedules with their Professional Education courses.

Denied students will be directed to schedule a meeting with their advisor to create a plan for moving forward.

Summer

Students completing final requirements over the Summer will have their application reviewed after the faculty grade submission deadline for Summer has passed or as necessary information becomes available.
