Each year, CHHS honors graduates who exemplify excellence, leadership, service and innovation across health care, education, behavioral health and human services. Matt Bell, M.S.W., LSW, CIP

CEO and Founder, Team Recovery

"Using lived experience and professional expertise to expand hope and recovery." 

Matt Bell is the CEO and Founder of Team Recovery, a Toledo-based addiction treatment organization that provides a continuum of care including detoxification, treatment, mental health services and recovery housing.

A Toledo native and UToledo Master of Social Work graduate, Bell combines lived experience, clinical knowledge and leadership to expand hope and access to recovery. His personal journey and commitment to helping others have shaped his work as an advocate for individuals and families affected by addiction.

Under his leadership, Team Recovery has grown into one of Ohio's leading providers of addiction treatment and recovery services. Bell is also deeply involved in community leadership and serves as Board Chair for the OneOhio Foundation. He founded the Team Recovery Foundation to help address the lasting impact of addiction on individuals and families.

An award-winning advocate, public speaker and author of Addiction Alumni, Bell continues to challenge stigma, expand access to care and create hope for individuals and communities affected by addiction.
