Nilgün is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P), and AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer. Her areas of expertise in health care include acute & ambulatory care classification systems, reimbursement methodologies, documentation requirements, compliance, and audit process. She developed and reviewed test items for the national RHIA certification and CDIS exams. She also wrote online ICD-10-CM/PCS actives and exercises for Pearson Education as the Subject Matter Expert for a MyMedicalCodingLab. She developed 2,250 questions and answer sets for 30 chapters, developed 150 mini medical record exercises, 10 capstone activities, and supporting documents. Nilgün also serves on the Wood County Health District’s Board of Health.
