The Herb Innovation Center hosts a variety of engaging events that foster learning, build research skills, inspire collaboration, and support professional growth for students and faculty.
THInC Camps

Established in 2025, The University of Toledo’s Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education’s Herb Innovation Center (THInC) summer camps for incoming third through ninth grade students will focus on Literacy. Campers will engage in reading, writing, and illustrating, or AI, data, and media literacy hands-on learning experiences to improve their literacy skills.
THInC Forum: Education in the Era of AI

Are you curious about artificial intelligence (AI) and how it can enhance education? Join us for the 2nd Annual THInC Forum: Education in the Era of AI! This event is designed for educators, university faculty and students, technology specialists, administrators, and community partners to explore the responsible integration of AI in teaching and learning.
THInC 3M/5M Research Competition

Share your research presentation and compete for monetary awards in the biannual THInC 3M/5M Research Competition. This event highlights and celebrates student research and provides an opportunity for Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education students to earn monetary awards to support their education and professional development. Graduate students will have 3 minutes, and undergraduate students will have 5 minutes to describe their research in person or virtually. This is an amazing opportunity for JHCASE students to sharpen their research and communication skills and share their scholarly work.
THInC Seminar on Highlighting Academic Research (SHARE) Series

Faculty, students, and invited speakers will share current, recent, or published research in a relaxed, informal setting. The series promotes research visibility and fosters collaborations within the college, across academic communities, and beyond. The attendees include Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education faculty and students, colleagues from other departments, and all those interested in attending from outside the college.
THInC Seminar on Methods and Research Techniques (SMART)Series

Faculty and students, and invited speakers will introduce a research method, potentially demonstrating its application, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. This series is designed to raise awareness of research methodologies within the college and across the broader academic community. The event will welcome Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education faculty and students, along with faculty from other departments and all those interested from outside the college.
