The honorary title of Dr. Christopher Cooper Fellow of the Medical Research Society was established to recognize faculty achievements in securing federal research funding and to honor Dr. Christopher Cooper for his exceptional leadership as the former Dean of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and his dedication to advancing the College’s research mission through the creation of the Medical Research Society (MRS).

Each year, this title will be awarded to faculty members who receive a new NIH R01 or equivalent grant, with honorees formally recognized at the MRS Business Meeting.
