Purpose

The aim of the Scholarly Pathway of Excellence in Health Disparities is to provide students with a longitudinal curricular focus on social determinants of health, equitable care to individuals in the community, and opportunities to identify and address factors that lead to health disparities in under-resourced populations. Using knowledge and understanding of global and public health concepts and social risk factors to which under-resourced populations are susceptible that lead to disparities in health outcomes, students will design and implement research or a project that addresses one or more selected health disparities.
