GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Clinical case discussions revolving around interpretation and appropriate cost-effective utilization of laboratory tests. Students will meet twice per week to discuss pre-assigned cases.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

  1. Present, discuss and provide clinical pathologic correlations on various disease processes (EPOs: MK-4, MK-7)
  2. Interpret lab tests related to various diseases (EPOs: MK-4)
  3. Utilize lab tests to diagnose and manage various diseases (EPOs: MK-4, MK-6)

PROFESSIONALISM:
UT/COMLS students will meet or exceed the institutional standards for professionalism as stated in the current educational program objectives and the current educational course objectives for the Department of Pathology.

METHODS OF TEACHING:

  1. Small group clinical skills
  2. Interpretation of lab data
