The Power To Do
Integrated Engineering Co-ops
Engineering Education that Incorporates Industry Experience

At The University of Toledo, engineering science students graduate with both a Bachelor of Science degree and at least one full year of paid industry experience on their resume.
It’s a credit to the cooperative education program at the UToledo College of Engineering, one of just eight engineering schools in the country that integrates work-based learning opportunities into its academic curriculum. Students alternate on-campus semesters in classrooms and laboratories with at least three off-campus semesters of industry placements applying what they've learned at local, national and international companies including Dana Incorporated, a Fortune 500 automotive manufacturing supplier headquartered less than 15 miles from campus.
More than 30,000 students have explored their interests, honed their practical skills and prepared themselves for careers through the co-op program in the more than 25 years since the College of Engineering introduced it in 1999.

Career-Building Experience
Opportunities for experiential learning begin as early as a student’s first semester in the state-of-the-art-facilities at UToledo’s College of Engineering. From freshman design courses to research collaborations with expert faculty, students are prepared to be practicing engineers and leaders in their fields.
