The Division of Student Affairs and University leaders are excited to welcome you to Rocket Family Weekend 2026! During check-in you will be able to pick-up your Rocket Family Weekend bundle including: t-shirts (preordered), family weekend wristbands, schedule of events, and various photo opportunities. We will have representatives from our Athletic Ticketing office present to answer any questions you might have related to your football tickets. 

JCPenney Rocket Suit Up

Time: 3 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. 
Franklin Park Mall

Enjoy a little shopping trip to the local JCPenney's to stock up on professional clothing for yourself and your student! The JCPenney Rocket Suit Up event is a great opportunity to get clothing for work, interviews, internships - including suits, dresses, sports coats, dress pants, shoes, and accessories with 30% off!  

Rocky's Friday Night Bash

Time: 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. 
Flatlands

The Rocket Family Weekend kickoff will include a live band and music from WXUT, a bonfire, yard games, and numerous food trucks from the City of Toledo for your family to enjoy. Each Rocket Family Weekend package will include a total of 10 Rocky Bucks to utilize at the food trucks for the night. 

Make sure to grab your family photo with our mascots Rocky and Rocksy or members of our spirit squad, Blue Crew!

Family Weekend Morning Run

Time: 10 a.m.
Flatlands, near the Spirit Rock

Start your morning off with a morning run around our beautiful campus with members from the Recreational Running Club! 

Canvas and Paint 

Time: 10 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. 
Student Union, Ingman Room 

Show off your artistic talents with a fun morning painting session. We will provide you with a mini canvas and the paint so you can show off your Rocket Spirit! Enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea and donuts while you're painting.

Rocket Family Weekend Tailgate

Flatlands (Rain Location: Lancelot Thompson Student Union)

Get excited for game day in Rocket Nation as the UToledo Rockets take on Morgan State University. Enjoy the annual tradition of the Rocket Family Weekend Tailgate that includes good food, music provided by WXUT, and fun activities. Engage with families from all over. 

Make sure to grab a picture with Rocky and Rocksy or one of the many members of Blue Crew as you show off your Rocket Spirit!

419 Music Fest

419 Music Fest is an all-day music festival located at Promenade Park in Downtown Toledo. This is a charity fundraiser for Toledo Firefighters local 92 charities. Music starts at noon, with the last band taking the stage at 9 p.m. Catch some of the best local bands in the 419. Music, food trucks, and beverages served all day long.

Toledo Museum of Art Block Party

The Toledo Museum of Art invites you to our annual Block Party! Join us on the TMA campus for a lively celebration of art and culture, where neighbors, families, and artists come together to create, explore, and have fun. 

Enjoy hands-on artmaking, live performances, music, experiential activities, and local food trucks throughout the evening. Arrive curious. Leave inspired.

Rocket Family Weekend Bingo!

Rocket Family Legacy Pinning Ceremony

Time: 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. 
Student Union, Auditorium 

For our Rocket family alumni this is a new tradition at the University of Toledo. The Legacy Pinning ceremony is to honor legacy students and their family members during Rocket Family Weekend. It is designed to offer alumni the opportunity to "pin" their student with a special legacy pin denoting their UToledo heritage and celebrating the ongoing tradition of Rocket spirit across multiple generations.

Enjoy a relaxing Sunday wandering around the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium. With over 10,000 animals, representing over 720 difference species there is something for everyone. Make sure to stop by the Polar Bear exhibit and meet the two newest members of the Toledo Zoo family, Kallik and Kallu. 

Tickets are not included as part of the Rocket Family Weekend bundle, but can be purchased at the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium website.
