TOLEDO WIND ORCHESTRA
The TOLEDO WIND ORCHESTRA performed several successful concerts in its last season (2012), featuring classic works such as Gustav Holst’s Suite in Eb, Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy, and Fisher Tull's Sketches on a Tudor Psalm. Due to major renovations to Doermann Theater (2013) - the ensemble's home venue - and scheduling issues over the past two years, the Toledo Wind Orchestra became dormant. And now, with much interest and anticipation, the ensemble is back!
The TOLEDO WIND ORCHESTRA is being reorganized and will resume rehearsals on Sunday evenings, 4:00-6:00pm, beginning Sunday, April 12. Rehearsals are at The University of Toledo's Center for Performing Arts. The ensemble will be conducted by Dr. Jason Stumbo, UT Director of Bands. Membership is open to advanced players - young and seasoned - with the goal of performing great works with limited rehearsal. The highly successful 2012 Inaugural Program included the Vaughan Williams Toccata Marziale, the Holst Suites in Eb and F, and Grainger's Lincolnshire Posy, after only four rehearsals. If you have the passion and the drive, we want you in the ensemble.
