Welcome to the 2015 UT High School Honor Band!

The University of Toledo will host its 7th Annual High School Honor Band this March 20-22, 2015.  For six years, this unique event has attracted a large number of area band students who spend a weekend not only rehearsing and performing a variety of music, but learning about and applying practical concepts of musicianship.

There is NO COST and NO AUDITION for participation.  The goal of the event is to have an enjoyable weekend by making music, not drilling technique.  Special emphasis is placed on the concepts of phrasing, balance, blend, tone and tuning.  Every high school musician can/will benefit from participating in this event.

Members of the UT Wind Ensemble sit-in with the students for both rehearsals and performance.  In addition, students have the opportunity to audition for UT Music Scholarships and Program Admission while on campus.

Registration for this event is through the high school directors.  Due to renovations of Doermann Theater, the stage is smaller, which means we will not be able to accept as many students as in the past.  Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Directors are asked to submit the names, instrument, ability level, and contact information of interested students directly via email, phone or fax.

Friday, March 20 - Doermann Theater in University Hall
            5:00-5:30 p.m.             Check-in
            6:00 p.m.                     1st Rehearsal
            9:00 p.m.                     Finished

 Saturday, March 21 - Doermann Theater
            9:00 a.m.                     2nd Rehearsal
            11:30 a.m.                   Lunch Break
            1:00 p.m.                     3rd Rehearsal/Sectionals
            4:30 p.m.                     Pizza Dinner (Provided)
            6:00 p.m.                     4th Rehearsal
            8:00 p.m.                     Finished 

Sunday, March 22 - Doermann Theater
            1:00 p.m.                     On Stage (if needed)
            3:00 p.m.                     Concert 

This is a commuter event.  Light breakfast and dinner is provided on Saturday, while participants should plan on purchasing their own lunch at the Student Union, where there are several fast-food options, or at any number of restaurants immediately surrounding the campus.
