KELLY TOMLINSON TO JOIN FULL-TIME FACULTY

Kelly Tomlinson '06 will be stepping down as assistant dean for student affairs to join the Toledo Law faculty as assistant professor of legal writing and director of academic success and bar preparation on August 15, 2022. In addition to her academic support duties, Tomlinson will be teaching 3L Bar Preparation and Advanced Legal Analysis. 

Tomlinson has been on staff with Toledo Law in a variety of roles since 2010. She has served as both assistant director of law career services and as the director of the Office of Professional Development from 2010 through 2019. Tomlinson then moved to her most recent position as assistant dean for student affairs. 

Beyond serving on the leadership team, Tomlinson has also previously taught courses at Toledo Law as a visiting assistant clinical professor and instructor.  

From serving on the College of Law administrative leadership team as well as being an instructor, one thing has remained the same for Tomlinson – the rewarding opportunity to work with students and help prepare them for a successful future. “My new role allows me to blend my passion for teaching with continuing to support our students’ success and long-term professional goals” says Tomlinson, “I am excited to support our students academically throughout their legal studies and beyond while they are preparing for the bar exam after graduation.” 

Tomlinson is an active member of many legal organizations including the Toledo Bar Association, Toledo Women's Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Ohio State Bar Association. She is also a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and serves on the executive committee of the Morrison R. Waite American Inn of Court. 

Tomlinson earned her B.A. in Communication Arts with high distinction from Ohio Northern University and her J.D. from The University of Toledo College of Law, magna cum laude.
