Online students may be eligible for many of the same scholarship opportunities as students attending face-to-face classes. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for more information at 419.530.8700, by email at UTFINAID@utnet.utoledo.edu, or visit the financial aid scholarship page.
The University Women's Commission awards scholarships to deserving university female students. Up to four $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year. Visit the UTWC Web site for more information.
College of Adult and Lifelong Learning Scholarships
Scholarships for students enrolled in one of the following degree programs:
Chris A. Henderson Scholarship
To be eligible for this scholarship you must be an incoming or readmit undergraduate student at The University of Toledo, a resident of Ohio or Monroe County, MI who has earned college/university credit with a minimum 2.5 Higher Ed GPA, AND has not attended a college or university for a minimum of two years. Applicants must enroll for a minimum of six credit hours per semester. This scholarship is one-time, non-renewable. Undergraduate students with a bachelor’s degree are not eligible. This four-year, renewable award assists with UT’s out-of-state surcharge ($9,338) for students outside of Ohio and Monroe County, Michigan, who are admissible to the University and meet the minimum academic requirements of at least a 2.75 cumulative high school GPA or 2.75 cumulative transfer GPA. Students who enroll in a 100% online program receive the full scholarship of $9,338.
This out-of-state award can be in addition to other merit awards for students that qualify as indicated by the merit scholarship grid.
Transfer Students Studying Online or On Campus
Effective for the Fall 2015 semester, students who meet the minimum academic requirements of a 2.75 cumulative transfer GPA will be eligible to receive a minimum Out-Of-State Award of $5,000. These students could earn up to the remainder of the value of the Out-Of-State surcharge based on their financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
If a new academically qualified student (2.75 cumulative transfer GPA) enrolls for classes prior to the Fall 2015 semester (Spring 2015 or Summer 2015) the student will be eligible to receive the Out-Of-State Award valued at the full amount of the Out-Of-State surcharge.
If a new academically qualified student (2.75 cumulative transfer GPA) enrolls for classes the Fall 2015 semester or afterwards the student will receive a minimum Out-Of-State Award of $5,000 and up to the remainder of the value of the Out-Of-State surcharge based on their financial need as determined by the FAFSA.
The renewal criteria and other requirements would remain the same.
Online Graduate Students
The Online Out-of-State Graduate Award is available for students residing outside of Ohio or Monroe County, Mich. who are admitted with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
