Student Employment

The Office of Residence Life at The University of Toledo provides outstanding opportunities for student leaders.  We are actively recruiting high-energy, enthusiastic individuals to work in one of our many student roles.  Please review position descriptions and current openings below:


Graduate Assistantship -  The Office of Residence Life offers two types of graduate assistantships.  Graduate Assistant Hall Directors and the Graduate Assistant Community Director are live-in administrative positions with responsibility primarily for desk and security supervision and advisement of the hall government.  Administrative Grads are live-out positions with responsibility for a specific area or initiative within the residence life department.  The graduate assistant is an academic year appointment and a 20 hour a week commitment, with full enrollment in a degree granting academic program a requirement.  All Residence Life graduate assistants, but especially those living in a residential community must recognize the value of and work toward the establishment of community.  The expectation is that this is accomplished through interactions with students and staff both inside and outside of the office environment.

Desk and Security Worker - Desk Receptionists and Security Staff Members are part-time members of The University of Toledo Office of Residence Life staff directly responsible to the Graduate Assistant Hall Director of his/her assigned building.  Both are responsible for operating the functions of the information desk in the residence hall and are considered an integral part of The University’s effort to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for residents living in the residence facilities on campus.

Resident Adviser  -  The Resident Adviser (RA) is a member of The University of Toledo Office of Residence Life staff directly responsible to the Hall Director of his/her assigned building. The RA is an integral part of The University’s effort to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of students. In all activities, the RA recognizes that service to students is a top priority. The application deadline to apply to become a Resident Advisor for the 2009-2010 academic year has passed.

House Manager - The House Manager (HM) is an integral part of the University of Toledo’s efforts to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of students. HMs are live-in members of the Office of Residence Life, supervised by the Community Director of his/her assigned building, appointed to serve residents as educators, mentors and guides. Effective HMs are team players who demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills while striving to maintain a healthy living environment in the chapter house.

Job Description
