Summer Student Employment

The Office of Residence Life at The University of Toledo provides outstanding opportunities for student leaders.  We are actively recruiting high-energy, enthusiastic individuals to work in one of our many student roles.  Please review position descriptions and terms and conditions for each job below:

Summer Recon - The Summer Recon Crew perform a variety of summer tasks. Traditionally these tasks include getting the buildings ready for fall opening. Work that can be expected on a typical day will include, but is not limited to, the moving of furniture, set up of rooms/suites, inventory, key tests, and other building projects.

Summer Resident Adviser - The Summer Resident Adviser (RA) is a member of The University of Toledo Office of Residence Life Summer Staff, directly responsible to the Summer Operations Professional Staff.  The Summer RA is considered an integral part of the University’s effort to provide a quality experience for summer school students and summer conference guests.  In all activity, the Summer RA recognizes that service to students, summer guests, and prospective students is a top priority.

Summer Desk Worker - Summer Desk Staff members are part-time members of The University of Toledo Office of Residence Life staff directly responsible to the Summer Operations Professional Staff.  Desk Staff Members are responsible for operating the functions of the information desk in the residence hall and are considered an integral part of The University’s effort to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for summer school students and summer conference guests.  It is expected that they will abide by all University and residence hall policies.  In all activities, they recognize that service to students is a top priority. Desk Staff members must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students at the University of Toledo.

Summer Desk Worker Reference Form – One of the two required references must be completed by a Residence Life representative (if candidate lives on campus).  Otherwise references from a former employer‚ current supervisor or adviser will be accepted.  References from family members and friends will not be accepted.
