Direct Admission

High-achieving applicants may qualify for direct admission to the professional division of our Pharm.D. program.

All Pharm.D. students spend two years completing pre-pharmacy coursework. (You may finish pre-pharmacy coursework more quickly if you have high school AP or college credit.) After completing pre-pharmacy coursework, students apply to the professional division of the program near the end of their second year. Seats in the professional division are limited and can be competitive.

If you are directly admitted when you first apply to UToledo, your spot in the professional division is reserved. Direct admission offers an advantage and takes away the stress of applying later.

If you qualify, you will be notified in your UToledo acceptance letter of next steps.

Direct Admission Application Requirements

  • High school GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Essay
  • Virtual or phone interview
  • International students: TOEFL iBT minimum score of 80; four minimum sub-category scores of 18
