Welcome to the 2025 UToledo High School Honor Band!
The University of Toledo will host its 15th Annual High School Honor Band this February
22-23, 2025. For 14 years, this unique event has attracted a large number of area
band students who spend a weekend not only rehearsing and performing a variety of
music, but learning about and applying practical concepts of musicianship.
There is NO COST and NO AUDITION for participation. The goal of the event is to have an enjoyable weekend by making music, not drilling technique. Special emphasis is placed on the concepts of phrasing, balance, blend, tone and tuning. Every high school musician can/will benefit from participating in this event.
Our UToledo Band Members sit-in with the students for both rehearsals and performance. In addition, students have the opportunity to audition for UToledo Music Scholarships and Program Admission while on campus.
Registration for this event is through the high school directors. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Directors are asked to submit - via email to jason.stumbo@utoledo.edu - the names, instrument, ability level, and contact information (family email) of interested students.
For students who have been officially accepted to participate, parent/guardian MUST:
- Parent/Guardian MUST complete the online Confirmation of Participation. This must be completed by 4pm Monday, February 17. Accepted students who do not have the parental confirmation completed by this time will be removed from the roster and replace by the next student on the waiting list.
- Parent/Guardian of participating students under 19 years of age MUST download, print,
and complete/sign the Medical Info/Consent Form and the Liability Waiver. These completed forms can be scanned and emailed to jason.stumbo@utoledo.edu, or submitted when the student arrives the day of event. Arriving students without

This is a commuter event. Light breakfast is provided on Saturday, as well as lunch.
All rehearsals and the performance will be held in Doermann Theatre, located inside University Hall. University Hall is the gothic building with the bell tower that faces Bancroft Street, on the north side of campus. There is limited parking on Bancroft Street and on the residential streets across form University Hall. Closest parking lots are 13C and 1N.
Parking is free this weekend, with the exception of any spaces marked as metered parking or otherwise designated as reserved.
The Sunday performance is free. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early. The entire program will be completed by 7pm. Student dress is semi-formal.
