Alumni Programs

The Global Business Development Institute (GBDI) is currently in the process of establishing an organization for all International business alumni from around the world. These total nearly 3000 alumni from over 75 countries.

The purpose of this association is to provide for the continuing education needs of former students at their various career stages as well as to facilitate social interaction and to assist current students with both internships and permanent career placement.

Alumni Spotlight

Jennifer Spackey-Pino
Jennifer Spackey-Pino, a COBA graduate in International Business is living and working in Quito, Ecuador. After her graduation in 2000, she returned to Ecuador (she had visited the country before) because of a remark one of her instructors made. Dr. Don Beeman, a professor of global business strategy told his students about the flower industry in South America where Jennifer now works.

She said she was going to stay in Ecuador for four months, however, as her Spanish improved, she got better and better jobs and decided to stay. It was there that she met her husband, an architect.

Megan Reichert
Megan Reichert, a graduate of UT's EMBA program, worked in her family’s business, Reichert Stamping Company, for over 12 years. In addition, she has been active in the UT Family Business Center for over 12 years and with the IBI for over 3 years. After nearly three years as Director of Business Development Services at the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, Megan joined the University of Toledo at the end of September to work with the technology economic development efforts of the University and the Science and Technology Corridor.
