Application Process

Where do I start?

Step 1:  Explore the programs available.
Step 2:  Meet with the study abroad program advisor. Set up an appointment here.
Step 3:  Complete the UToledo education abroad initial application. There is a $100 application fee when applying.
Step 4:  Meet with the study abroad program advisor to discuss the proper documentation needed for your study abroad program.
Step 5:  Apply to the selected program on the provider coordinating your program.
Step 6:  Meet with an Academic Advisor to get their approval on your interest courses abroad. You can find your academic advisor here.
Step 7:  Complete the UToledo paperwork that can be accessed on Education Abroad Portal.
Step 8:  Meet with the Office of Financial Aid.
Step 9:  Attend the Pre-Departure Orientation.
Step 10: Depart!

Dual Application

You are applying to an international experience through a provider or accredited institution, which has a dual application process. You must complete an application with:

  1. UToledo Education Abroad on the Education Abroad Portal.

AND

  1. The provider/institution coordinating your program.

Note

The provider/institution’s application deadline may differ from UToledo Education Abroad. It is your responsibility to check their website for up-to-date information about the program, including their application deadline.
