Program Types

UToledo Faculty-Led Programs (UToledo-Managed)

  • Developed by UToledo faculty members.
  • You will be with other UToledo students.
  • Take UToledo courses that align with the curriculum. (Some faculty-led programs may not be tied to a course.)
  • Pay UToledo tuition, program fees, and some UToledo fees.

Exchange Programs

  • Courses and services are provided by the host university.
  • Housing is in shared apartments or dorms.
  • Recommended for full immersion—studying alongside local students without direct UToledo oversight.
  • Pay UToledo tuition and some UToledo fees. Housing costs are paid directly to the host university.

Partner (UToledo Approved) Programs

  • Managed by third-party providers or universities abroad.
  • Housing is arranged by the provider and is mandatory.
  • Take classes with U.S., local, and international students.
  • Apply to and pay the program provider directly. This includes tuition, housing, on-site support, excursions, and sometimes meals.
