Graduate Seminar

All graduate students are required to register for and attend the MIME 6930/8930 Graduate Seminar every fall and spring semester. Email announcements are sent out prior to each seminar and the schedule and select past recordings are available on the Graduate Seminar page.

Degree Requirements

  • Focus Area Core Courses: 9 credit hours
  • Mathematics requirement: 3 credit hours
  • Thesis (MIME 6960 Graduate Research and Thesis): 9 credit hours of thesis 
  • Any approved Engineering or Mathematics Elective: 9 credit hours
  • Total: 30 credit hours

You must list a total of 30 credit hours on your plan of study, no more and no less. However, you may take additional course work and/or project/thesis hours.

  • Focus Area Core Courses: 9 credit hours
  • Mathematics requirement: 3 credit hours
  • Project (MIME 6920 Special Projects): 6 credit hours 
  • Focus Area Electives: 3 credit hours
  • Any approved Engineering or Mathematics Elective: 9 credit hours
  • Total: 30 credit hours

You must list a total of 30 credit hours on your plan of study, no more and no less. However, you may take additional course work and/or project/thesis hours.

  • A minimum of 15 credit hours of coursework beyond the 6000 level
  • A minimum of 30 Dissertation Research hours (MIME 8960).  
  • Successful completion of the PhD Qualifier requirements.
  • A minimum total of 60 credit hours beyond the master's level.
