Learning Resource Center
The School of Nursing’s Learning Resource Center (LRC) is a hand’s on learning environment where our students are given the opportunity to begin the process of turning theory into practice. Students work in pairs to learn physical assessment skills and work with high-tech task trainers to learn technical skills. Our nursing staff strives to provide a student-centered approach to help each and every student to be successful. Most students agree the LRC is fun place to learn!
TheLearning Resource Center (LRC) is located in the lower level of the Howard L. Collier Building on the Health Science Campus. It includes multifunctional teaching and learning laboratories that provide nursing students with opportunities for self-directed and facilitated learning utilizing the latest in educational technology. This is where students learn the majority of their skills for the nursing profession.
interprofessional immersive simulation center
OurInterprofessional Immersive Simulation Center (IISC) offers many ways for healthcare students to collaborate and work together. The Advanced Clinical Simulation Center, located on the second floor of IISC is where the nursing students complete simulation activities. It is a virtual hospital with an ICU, Trauma Suite, OB & Delivery Suite, Operating Room, Ambulatory Care Room, and Pediatrics Room equipped with human patient simulators, clinical equipment, and debriefing and control rooms. There is also an ultrasound lab and clinical skills area.
