Breast Cancer Research Program

The Breast Cancer Working Group brings together basic scientists, clinician-scientists, and surgical oncologists to advance research across the spectrum of breast cancer biology, diagnostics, and therapeutics. This group focuses on understanding molecular drivers of breast cancer progression, metastasis, and treatment resistance, while fostering collaborations that bridge laboratory discoveries with clinical care. Through coordinated research initiatives, grant development, and integration with regional clinical partners, the working group aims to accelerate innovation in precision medicine and improve outcomes for patients with breast cancer in Northwest Ohio.

Pancreatic Cancer Research Program

The Pancreatic Cancer Working Group unites investigators with expertise in tumor biology, molecular profiling, and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery to tackle one of the deadliest cancers. This group focuses on deciphering mechanisms of pancreatic tumor initiation, progression, and therapeutic resistance, with the goal of identifying novel targets and improving early detection and treatment strategies. By integrating basic science with clinical insight and engaging partners across ProMedica and the broader region, the working group is committed to developing translational research programs that meaningfully impact pancreatic cancer care and survivorship.

Prostate Cancer Research Program

The Prostate Cancer Working Group brings together researchers and clinicians specializing in cancer biology, urology, orthopedic oncology, and translational science to address key challenges in prostate cancer progression and metastasis. This group investigates the molecular and microenvironmental factors that drive therapy resistance, bone metastasis, and disease recurrence. By fostering multidisciplinary collaborations and supporting joint grant applications, the working group aims to accelerate the development of new therapeutic strategies and improve clinical outcomes for patients with prostate cancer across Northwest Ohio.
