Welcome to the Northwest Ohio Cancer Research Institute (NOCRI).

NOCRI is a collaborative, region-wide initiative dedicated to advancing cancer research, improving patient outcomes, and strengthening the scientific and clinical community across The University of Toledo, ProMedica, and our broader regional partners. Rooted in The University of Toledo’s growing research enterprise and driven by a shared commitment to reducing the burden of cancer, NOCRI serves as a unifying platform that brings together basic scientists, clinicians, engineers, data scientists, trainees, and community partners to accelerate discovery and innovation.

At NOCRI, we work to transform cancer research through interdisciplinary collaboration, cutting-edge technology, and a passion for impact. Our programs span basic, translational, and clinical research; precision cancer medicine; AI-driven drug discovery; biorepository development; in-vivo therapeutics; disease-focused working groups; and community-engaged initiatives. Together, these efforts create a dynamic environment that supports scientific breakthroughs, fosters the next generation of cancer researchers, and strengthens partnerships that extend from the laboratory to the clinic and into the community.

We invite you to explore NOCRI’s mission, meet our leadership team and members, learn about our cores and programs, and join us as we work to advance cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship for the people of Northwest Ohio and beyond.

Together, we are building a stronger, more innovative future in cancer research, one discovery at a time, in Toledo and beyond.
