Orthopaedic Surgery Clerkship

Medical Student Education

Third- and Fourth-year medical students are welcome to rotate through the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Current UT students who are interested in an Orthopaedic Surgery rotation should contact the Clerkship Coordinator.  If an advisement session is needed please call to schedule an appointment.

Students from outside institutions interested in rotations should check for availability on VSLO.

We are happy to provide our medical students and residents with current medical educational tools, please view them through the following links:

The Ortho Experience at UTMC:

While on rotation in the Orthopaedic Department students attend weekly didactics in the Orthopaedic Conference Room.  Every Wednesday X-Ray Conference is held for Attending Physicians, Residents, and Medical Students. You will also attend our Thursday Lecture Series, which consists of local Attending Physicians presenting on their specialties to the Residents and Medical Students.  Once a month during our Thursday Lecture Series a Journal Club is held at a local restaurant.
