Divisions: Cardiology
The Division of Cardiology specializes in the diagnosis and management of congenital and acquired heart conditions in infants, children, and adolescents. Faculty provide comprehensive, family-centered care for a wide range of cardiac disorders, including congenital heart defects, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and acquired heart disease.
Our division stands out through its integration of academic expertise and community-based care across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. We provide timely access to specialized pediatric cardiac services while maintaining strong collaboration with regional tertiary care centers for complex cases. Our commitment to comprehensive, coordinated, and family-centered care ensures that patients receive seamless evaluation and management close to home whenever possible.
Medical students and residents rotating through the Division of Cardiology gain exposure to a broad spectrum of cardiovascular conditions in children. Learners develop skills in cardiac examination, interpretation of diagnostic studies such as echocardiograms and electrocardiograms, and management of common and complex heart conditions. The rotation emphasizes clinical reasoning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
