Divisions: Pulmonology
The Division of Pulmonology is dedicated to providing exceptional access to high-quality pediatric pulmonary care for patients and families across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Our multidisciplinary team provides evidence based, individualized care for children with asthma, cystic fibrosis, sleep disorders, airways disorders, and other complex lung diseases. We are committed to delivering the latest diagnostic and therapeutic advances in respiratory medicine in a supportive, family-centered environment. We collaborate closely with regional and national centers to ensure optimal outcomes for children with both common and complex pulmonary conditions.
Alongside compassionate clinical care, the division is involved in research in order to help improve the treatments and outcomes for pediatric respiratory disorders. Recent accomplishments by our faculty reflect ongoing leadership in clinical care, education, and research, including participation in multicenter initiatives and quality improvement efforts. We actively participate in clinical research including cystic fibrosis and asthma.
In addition, we are deeply committed to teaching and mentoring medical students and residents. We strive to foster and support their learning through clinical experience, involvement in research and quality improvement, and mentorship. In doing so, we aim to help educate the future generation of pediatric providers.
Residents and medical students can expect to gain education and experience in both outpatient and inpatient pediatric pulmonology and pediatric sleep medicine. Learners will be exposed to a wide range of pediatric respiratory disorders. Learning opportunities also include gaining an understanding of diagnostic modalities including bronchoscopy, pulmonary function, and polysomnography.
We are dedicated to providing rational, evidence-based, compassionate, and collaborative care, with a strong emphasis on family-centered decision-making. Our patients, families, and learners remain at the heart of everything we do.
We strive to provide compassionate and comprehensive pediatric pulmonary care for children and their families. Our multidisciplinary team provides patient and family centered care that is up to date and evidence based. We also maintain a strong commitment to educating the next generations of pediatric healthcare providers.
