Elective Description/Requirements: Students will see outpatients in Ambulatory Private Patient Care office. Additional responsibilities include taking histories & physicals, assisting in outpatient procedures.  Reading of selected dermatologic textbooks during the clerkship is also expected.

Length of Clerkship: 4 weeks

  1. Recognize common skin disorders and treat them appropriately. (EPOs: PC-1, MK-4)
  2. Identify the basic principles involved in the pathophysiology and etiology of dermatologic disease using the skin as a vivid visual model. (EPOs: PC-1, MK-4)
  3. Demonstrate the ability to take a complete history and recognize the importance of this history in both the diagnosis and therapy of skin disease. (EPOs: PC-1, PC-7)
