echo 360 brain food seminar series

In partnership with Echo360, our Video and Active Learning Platform, UToledo Online is hosting this Brain Food Seminar Series. Topics to be covered will include new features of the software, including Universal Capture and Student Video Assignments, flipping the class, using in-class engagement methods to gauge student understanding, review of material for supplemental study and mastery, and using analytics for evaluation and intervention.
There will be a session offered on each campus to better serve our faculty:

Active learning occurs when an instructor engages with students and facilitates their engagement with each other to learn course content, solve problems, collaborate on creations, discuss readings, and write and receive feedback from both the instructor and peers. UToledo provides classrooms designed to allow students to collaborate with each other, share work in progress, get rapid feedback on that work, and provide instructors with access to all parts of the classroom. Sense of belonging – that you are a welcomed member of campus community, that your
efforts are respected and that those on campus are invested and believe in your success
– is a critically important but often overlooked contributor to student success. In
this workshop, participants will learn about the research linking belonging to student
success and evidence-based best practices that all instructors can use to foster a
sense of belonging in their classes. Participants will come away from the session
with a list of practices that they can immediately implement in their classrooms to
improve student outcomes.
