Mahesh Pillai
Mahesh Pillai joined the Professional Staff Council in 2022.
Mahesh works as a Compliance Analyst in the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) under the Office of Research Compliance. He has been at The University of Toledo for three years. His position serves as part of the leadership team in ensuring compliance with institutional, departmental, federal, and state regulations for the University’s oversight of human subject research activities. He provides direction and guidance concerning the requirements and obligations for the ethical and compliant conduct of human subjects research. He also provides initial and ongoing educational and regulatory guidance and direction to investigators, research office staff, students, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) members.
Mahesh has an M.D. degree from India and has M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biological Sciences from Bowling Green State University. He has served on several committees during his time at BGSU. His goal as a Professional Staff Council member would be to serve as a conduit for communication between the Professional Staff Association (PSA) members and UToledo administration. He would like to lend an active ear to the issues affecting PSA members and be part of the team looking for solutions. He intends learning about the intricacies of UToledo administration, so that he can optimize his efforts. Through his service to various PSA committees, he would like to positively contribute towards enriching professional lives of the PSA members.
