Biomedical IRB

The Biomedical IRB reviews research studies that are designed to evaluate the safety, effectiveness, or usefulness of an intervention including research on therapies (e.g., drugs, diet, exercise, surgical interventions, or medical devices), diagnostic procedures (e.g., CAT scans), and preventive measures, and/or review of existing records related to medical care or treatment.

UToledo researchers from both campuses can submit to this IRB.

Social, Behavioral and Educational IRB

The Social, Behavioral and Educational IRB reviews University protocols that involve human subjects and generate data by means of questionnaires, observation, studies of existing records, and other experimental designs involving exposure to some type of non-biomedical stimulus or intervention.
