Professor Nicole Porter

“Bringing Law to the #MeToo Movement”

Professor Nicole Buonocore Porter
Professor of Law
The University of Toledo College of Law

Join us in discussing the #MeToo movement, which has galvanized the public and brought a great deal of much-needed attention to sexual harassment and sexual assault in the workplace. Professor Nicole Buonocore Porter will challenge the narrative that has developed surrounding the #MeToo Movement—that women are reporting harassment at record levels; that they are being listened to and believed; that the perpetrators are being swiftly punished; and that the victim-reporters are emerging from their reports unscathed. Additionally, Porter will bring some much-needed law to the popular account surrounding the #MeToo movement.

Professor Porter is one of the nation's leading experts in employment law. She teaches in the areas of employment discrimination, disability law, criminal law, contracts, and feminist legal theory. Porter holds degrees from Michigan State University (BA) and the University of Michigan (JD).
