This fall I will begin my full-time job at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a Core Assurance Associate (Audit).  In this position, I will be working on an audit engagement team where we will be analyzing the financial statements of companies in order to determine whether they have complied with all proper accounting rules and regulations. In addition to this, we will also be taking a look at a company's internal controls.

I have not yet begun my job, however I can say that there are really amazing people at the company. Every employee I have come in contact with has been very inviting and has made me feel right at home. When I was first searching for a post-graduation job, I knew PwC was the company I wanted to work for because of their uplifting and empowering community. They truly care about their employees on a personal and professional level, and I think that is one of the biggest aspects I liked about the company. I am truly excited and overjoyed to start work with PwC this September!

I am receiving my bachelor's degree in accounting, the major I chose because I have always enjoyed anything that has to do with numbers. Furthermore, with a degree in accounting, the jobs are limitless. Accountants are very needed all across the world and throughout the business world, no matter the industry. I think that with this degree I could go anywhere I would like to and into whatever industry I choose, and I would definitely be able to find countless opportunities.

This job will expose me to many challenging things within the accounting field and it has always been a personal goal of mine to continuously challenge myself. Another personal career goal of mine is to become a CPA, and this job encourages you to take those exams by offering valuable resources.

COBI has prepared me for my position with PwC with their rigorous coursework, helpful professors, amazing internship opportunities about which they continuously make us aware, and their career development classes and workshops.

COBI played a vital role in helping me obtain this position by hosting the job fair, resume critiques, and mock interviews. Without the job fair, I probably would not have met with some of the recruiters that I met with which helped me land my job.

Throughout my years here at the University of Toledo, I have switched my major quite a few times. Although I have heard a lot of great things about our university in general, I have always heard how excellent of a job our university does with our COBI students. After hearing many great things about the college and hearing some testimonies from some of my friends in the college, I decided to make the switch… and I couldn't be happier with the outcome!

I have engaged with plenty of younger students who have had an interest in studying business at UT COBI, and I have always told them to go for it. As I've said before, I have switched my major quite a few times, and with those switches I have had to switch colleges within the university. I can definitely say that COBI was my best choice. The faculty and staff are very helpful in assisting you with all of your academic and career goals. With any business degree you receive from COBI, you gain a great insight into all of the other majors and are able to make a solid decision of which major is the best for you.
