Welcome to the Radiation Safety Program

Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Radiation Safety (ORS) is to develop, implement, and manage the University of Toledo's Radiation Safety Program with the support of the Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) and the X-ray QA Committee  to ensure the safety of all staff, students, patients, and visitors while maintaining exposures at the University of Toledo facilities As Low As Reasonably Achievable, often referred to as ALARA.  The purpose of the Radiation Safety Program is to ensure compliance with all applicable University of Toledo policies and local, state, and federal regulations. 

Resources

The Office of Radiation Safety is your resource for radiation protection information.  All questions regarding ionizing radiation should be directed to this office.  The staff is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  If you need to contact staff after hours, weekends, or holidays, contact the University of Toledo operator at 419-383-4000.
