Welcome to Panhel
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the University of Toledo’s Panhellenic Association Webpage!
I am so excited that you are interested in learning more about Fraternity & Sorority
Life here at UToledo. This
website is a resource for your learning, and includes information about all of the
Panhellenic
chapters we have at UToledo, council demographics, how to get involved, and information
about
Fraternity & Sorority Life as a whole.
The Panhellenic Association is comprised of nine different organizations including
Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta
Phi
Epsilon, Kappa Delta, Phi Sigma Rho, and Pi Beta Phi. All together, the Panhellenic
Association
is home to approximately 400 women who share the values of friendship, leadership,
service,
knowledge, integrity, and community. Each of our chapters offer a special and supportive
environment that empowers women at UToledo in all aspects of their lives. All of these
chapters
and the women who call them home bring a unique aspect to the community which makes
this
council so special.
Fraternity & Sorority Life at UToledo is one of the best ways to get involved on campus.
A campus that has
over 15,000 students immediately feels small and intimate once joining Fraternity
& Sorority Life. Fraternity & Sorority Life
serves as a portal to so many life enriching opportunities, both professional and
personal, which
in return make the campus feel like home almost instantly. Our goals as an organization
are to
foster lifelong friendships, encourage leadership, develop high moral character, and
prepare
women for life after college.
In the most sincere way, Fraternity & Sorority Life has changed my life in all of
those ways. Whether you are
living on campus, or are a commuter student like me, joining Fraternity & Sorority
Life will present
opportunities for growth in vast ways. I have developed leadership skills that will
help me as I
navigate life after college and in my future career. The true friends that I have
made throughout
the Panhellenic Association have provided immense support and allow me to reach my
fullest
potential. Home to a wide variety of majors, our community values academic success
which
manifests in being connected to resources that have helped myself and our members
thrive in
the classroom. Different opportunities during my involvement have taught me many lessons
in
hard work, leadership, integrity, and passion which have allowed me to grow into the
person I
am today. Becoming a member of Fraternity & Sorority Life was truly the missing piece
in making UToledo feel
like home.
As the Panhellenic President, I have the honor to help facilitate these opportunities
to grow the
community and individuals that comprise such a distinctive organization. I strive
to work with
community and university leaders to make Fraternity & Sorority Life a welcoming, inclusive,
and safe space for
all. It is my goal that each of our members feels like they have a meaningful place
in a
community that loves and values them. If you are thinking about joining a Panhellenic
chapter, I
strongly encourage you to do so! Myself, others on my executive team, and the professional
staff in the Office of Student Engagement also serve as a resource to help guide
you and answer any questions you may have. Please take a look around this webpage,
our
Panhellenic Association website, and our social media (@utpanhel on Instagram) for
recruitment information and to get a better idea of all that we are. I hope that you
find the Fraternity & Sorority Life experience to be as valuable as I have.
Go Rockets and Go Greek,
Carlie Barney
2024 Panhellenic President
