Office of Experiential Learning
Experiential learning means learning by directly engaging in guided experiences in the most authentic environment possible. The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) believes that training the next generation of professional practitioners goes beyond the traditional classroom. In order to ensure that our students are the very best entry-level practitioners, it is essential that they gain experience in the field under the guidance of qualified, seasoned professionals.
Students in our programs complete their experiences in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, hospitals, clinics, schools, skilled nursing facilities, and private practices. While a number of our affiliate sites are located within Toledo and the region of Northwest Ohio, we frequently place students at sites all over our home state and throughout the country.
Every program has faculty dedicated to helping each individual student find their best fit for experiential learning rotations. While the primary consideration is ensuring that the student meets graduation and licensure requirements, this fit may also be based on a particular area of interest within their discipline and/or a preferred geographic location.
