The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program supports research and development conducted by eligible United States small businesses. The Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program requires the small business to formally collaborate with a qualified nonprofit research institution.

Ohio Technology Validation & Start-up Fund

The Ohio Third Frontier Technology Validation and Start-up Fund (TVSF) supports the commercialization of technologies developed at eligible Ohio institutions. The program is intended to help move promising technologies beyond the research environment and toward the formation or growth of an Ohio startup.
