Candice Kline joined Toledo Law as a part-time faculty member in fall 2023 and full-time faculty member in fall 2024.

Her background is in advising clients on bankruptcy and corporate restructuring matters, corporate law, and related litigation. She has represented debtors, creditors, and fiduciaries in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court workouts. Her experience includes managing cases from $1 million to $13 billion, with key roles in large, complex cases. She has international case experience in bankruptcy, insolvency, and cross-border matters. Drawing on her experience working in global banks and at technology start-ups, as well as her knowledge from earning an M.B.A., Candice combines her strong business background with legal experience when helping companies with workout and restructuring situations. Her experience in litigation in both state and federal courts includes cases involving real estate, fraud investigations, loan transactions, breach of fiduciary duty, contract disputes and collections. She maintains a part-time legal practice representing business clients in corporate bankruptcy and litigation matters.

Candice is a graduate of The University of Toledo College of Law and served as Editor-in-Chief of Law Review. She also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. from Oberlin College. She regularly writes and speaks on bankruptcy topics with industry associations and publications. Recently, Candice delivered the keynote speech at the College of Law’s May 2023 Commencement.
