Scholarships
Toledo Law awards more than $1.5 million in scholarships each year to well-qualified law students. Scholarships decrease your student debt and do not require repayment.
Entering Student Scholarships
Entering students are automatically considered for scholarships, ranging from several thousand dollars to full tuition, without the need for a separate application. Scholarships are awarded at the time of admission, so we encourage you to apply early for priority consideration.
College of Law Merit Scholarships
Scholarships cover the full or partial cost of tuition throughout your law school experience (up to 89 credit hours) and renew without condition if you maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
Leadership and Service Stipends
One-time stipends for select applicants who show extraordinary leadership and promise. Stipends provide funding for miscellaneous law school-related expenses.
Upper-Level Student Scholarships
After completing your first year, we offer upper-level student scholarships to help fund your legal education.
Donor Scholarships
Numerous donor scholarships, made possible through the generosity of alumni and benefactors, are available to support you throughout law school. Awards vary in amount and duration.
Top 10 Awards
Awards cover the full cost of in-state tuition your second year if you enter without a College of Law Merit Scholarship and complete your first year ranked in the Top 10 of your class.
Post-Graduate Scholarships
The University of Toledo College of Law and the University of Toledo Foundation offer the "Raising the Bar" stipend to College of Law students in their final semester who plan on sitting for the state bar exam in the first testing round after graduation. This stipend is offered to help offset basic living expenses such as housing, food, utilities and transportation during the 10-week period before taking the bar exam.
