Eva Epstein Shaw
(1891-1951)
Eva Epstein Shaw began the practice of law in 1918. While specializing in domestic
relations, probate and real estate law, she drafted and helped to enact legislation,
including, in 1922, the bill creating the Lucas County Domestic Relations Court, thereby
attracting national acclaim. A member of civic and legal organizations, she was a
charter member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
