Highlighting the Clinical Relevance of the Foundational Sciences: Novel Educational Tools for Students and Educators in the Health Professions

Objectives:
At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the challenges relating to curricular integration of the foundational sciences faced by both educators and students at health professions institutions.
  2. Illustrate types of educational tools that can help form bridges between foundational and clinical sciences across health professional training.
  3. Describe applications of educational tools relating to learning objectives, clinical presentation maps, and third-party resources to highlight the clinical relevance of foundational science disciplines.
  4. Enhance their understanding of the role of Communities of Practice in creating processes for robust product design and applications in health professions education.
