About our lab:

We are a research group studying protein structure, regulation and function via understanding their dynamics at University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. We develop new computational tools and algorithms to analyze molecular dynamics simulation data and validate the findings by structural determination such as X-Ray Crystallography and Small Angle X-Ray Scattering. We also validate our findings by biochemical functional assays, and data mining on publicly accessible databases or electronic medical records. The goal of our research is to identify or design better drugs to regulate protein function for disease intervention.

Students in our group have very diverse background. However, we can roughly be divided into two groups. One group is from the life science field and one group is from computer/data science field. Students from different fields interact with each other and get exposed to the culture of both wet and dry lab.
