ASCP exam scores

Graduates of the Assistant in Pathology program will demonstrate mastery of the knowledge needed for an entry-level pathologists’ assistant.

Program retention rates

At least 90% of each entering class will complete the program and graduate on-time.

Employment rates

75% of graduates will have permanent employment upon graduation.


Admission

Goal: Attract and admit high-quality applicants with healthcare experience and GPA greater than 3.0.

Indicators:
-  Average GPA of entering classes will be 3.0 or greater.
-  Entering students will have at least one shadowing experience in medical/forensic autopsy services, or have shadowing experience in surgical pathology.

Results:
-  Average GPA for 2023 class is 3.5/4.0
-  Students have at least one work and shadowing experience in autopsy and/or surgical pathology.

Indicator:
-  Responses from the Annual Alumni Survey for the 2015-2023 graduating years will indicate that at least 75% of program graduates secured employment as a pathologists’ assistant or closely related field within the first year of graduation.

Results:
-  Within 6 months of graduation, 95% of graduates who graduated from the classes of 2015-2023 had secured employment as a Pathologists’ Assistants or related field positions within the first year after graduation.
