Area of Research
Research focusing on quantitative assessment of health outcomes particularly related to prescription or non-prescription medication use. I have been involved in developing real-world evidence (RWE) studies to help understand value-based decision making and outcomes-driven healthcare delivery. My research experience includes studies using claims databases such as Optum, GE, MarketScan, Truven, Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) U.K. along with the U.S. national databases including Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS) National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), etc.

Scope of Practice
Dr. Vaidya is a professor of Pharmaceutical and Policy Sciences at the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. His research work is often a collaboration between academia and the pharmaceutical/medical devices industry and health systems. As a director of a graduate program, he supervises and coordinates the administration and governance of graduate studies. He also serves as the faculty advisor to the UT-ISPOR chapter. At a national level, he serves on the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) Data & Interoperability Advisory Group (DIAG). He has also been very active in many national and international organizations such as ISPOR, APhA, AACP, to name a few. Dr.Vaidya has been an invited speaker to national and international venues. On many occasions, he has been asked to provide his expertise to the media on issues related to his research area.
