Adam is a Toledo native and proud two-time graduate of The University of Toledo.
With more than 20 years of service as a professional staff member at UToledo, he
brings extensive experience in student recruitment, new student orientation, and,
most recently, academic advising. Providing exemplary student support remains at the
center of his daily work.
Outside the office, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, and watching any sport — ideally from his favorite recliner with his dog by his side.

Angelica Johnson is the Director of the University of Toledo's TRIO Student Support Services and believes in helping students reach their greatest potential. Born and raised in Toledo, Angelica previously worked as the College and Career Advisor at Central Catholic High School. Angelica, a first-generation, TPS Alum, earned her Bachelor's degree in Life Science from Bowling Green State University. She received her Master's in School Counseling and Ph.D. in the Foundations of Education from the University of Toledo. Angelica has presented scholarly work for the M.O.R.E. Institute and was nominated for the 20 Under 40 Toledo Awards (2021, 2022). A respected leader, Angelica has served as Program Manager for Racial Equity and Diversity Training at the University of Toledo and participated in the 2021-22 United Way Leadership Toledo Program. Angelica is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Angelica's mission is to help advance student's self-efficacy by instilling confidence and promoting self-accountability.

John Fedor is the Retention Specialist of the University of Toledo’s TRIO Student Support Services Program. He counsels students on academic and personal matters, provides tutoring, conducts academic skills workshops, and teaches Career, College Study Strategies, and Critical Thinking courses. Prior to coming to UT, Mr. Fedor was a motivational speaker for International Telephone and Telegraph. In that position, he annually spoke to over 10,000 high school juniors and seniors about post-secondary educational options, job search skills, and career selection. John received his bachelor’s degree in history from Truman State University and his master's degree in educational technology from the University of Toledo. He is a certified high school social studies teacher and enjoys motorcycling and competing in triathlons. John joined the UToledo staff in February 2002.

Mike Kantner is the Program Coordinator of the University of Toledo's TRIO Student Support Services program. Mike is the specialist for our Freshmen and Sophomore scholars, leads our peer mentoring program, and provides personal and academic support and development. Mike is highly motivated, student-centered, and enjoys making a difference in his student's lives. He brings a wealth of experience and a high-end motor to build authentic connections and support student success. Mike was previously a Success Coach at the University of Toledo. Mike is very active at the University of Toledo – serving on the College of Engineering Retention Committee, Equity Champions, and Exploratory Scholars Programs. He is a part of the University of Findlay Board of Governors. He played football, basketball, and tennis at the University of Findlay while obtaining his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration. Mike has taught a variety of courses at the college level. Mike is a diehard Michigan fan, loves fishing, playing tennis and basketball in his spare time, and spending time with family and friends.

Tom has over 20 years of experience in higher education in a variety of student success roles including academic advising, career services, and online learner support. He’s a proud graduate of The University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Business Administration and received a Masters of Career and Technology Education from that school down south (BGSU). Tom is committed to providing support and direction to allow each student to succeed in their academic journey. When not at work, Tom enjoys his daily early morning workouts, running, going to concerts and sporting events, or just hanging out at home with his wife and son.

Will has a Student Affairs background spanning various offices, schools, and even time zones. Starting as a college student in Residence Life, mixing with academics, athletics, and student conduct over the years, and eventually landing in advising the goals in every position always centered around student development and empowerment. At the end of any interaction, Will wants students to feel proud of their achievements, confident in their future, and positive around their decision to become a Rocket. Will also likes to bring fun to the office by designating days of the week as Bow Tie Tuesday and Fun Sock Friday – stop by and see something new every week.

Emma holds degrees in Anthropology and Social Science from Portland State University and is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of Toledo. After living across the country, she brings a broad perspective to her work in higher education, with three years of experience supporting college students in employer relations and career counseling before joining UToledo as an Academic Advisor in 2025. Emma has worked with learners ages 3 to 70 and is passionate about helping students build confidence and navigate their academic paths. She enjoys supporting UToledo athletics— especially the women’s rowing team, where her husband is the head coach—and loves hiking, baking, and cheering on her kids at their sporting events.

Lisa is a proud 3-time graduate of the University of Toledo. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, and her doctorate in Counselor Education from UToledo. Her work as a new student orientation leader in undergrad led to her career as an academic advisor. She roots for the Toledo Rockets sports teams, enjoys playing trivia, and binge-watching a good television series.

Devan is a recent transplant from Salt Lake City, Utah, making Toledo home in 2023. He holds a BA in Gender Studies and an M. Ed in Higher Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah. He has worked with students in higher education for 16 years in various roles and is committed to supporting individual students daily and developing systems that nurture the success of all students in the long-term. When not at work, Devan studies jazz guitar, relishes spending time with his partner and animals, where they can often be found ambling through one of the area’s beautiful Metroparks.

Rachel Coleman is passionate about helping students believe they can achieve more than they can think or imagine, while developing the practical steps and strong work ethic needed to reach their goals. She brings prior advising experience and has experience teaching first-year orientation courses and has worked closely with residence life and recruitment teams, including serving as a spokesperson to support student recruitment at another university. A two-time graduate of Bowling Green State University, Rachel enjoys spending time with family, cooking, outdoor walks, and strength training.

Josh Duncan

Josh brings eight years of experience in higher education, having supported students and institutions at Lourdes University and previously at Chamberlain University in Chicago. Before transitioning into higher education, Josh spent three years creating memorable guest experiences at Walt Disney World, working on iconic attractions including Jungle Cruise and Star Wars-themed rides. He enjoys building meaningful connections, bringing a positive attitude to everything he does, and believes that a little humor can go a long way—especially if it's a good dad joke. Outside of work, Josh enjoys playing video games, reading, and spending quality time with his partner and kids.

Don Emmert brings to the University of Toledo over ten years of experience directly working with students to achieve success both inside and outside of the classroom. He hails from the Cleveland, Ohio area and has a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Findlay. Don’s experience working with adult learners has fueled his passion for advising, experiential education, and career exploration. When away from the office, Don enjoys a good game of cards (UNO anyone?), Japanese food (Unadon is the best), and his Siba Inu names Nushi.

Suzanne is a proud graduate of The University of Toledo. During her extensive years as a higher education educator, she has served several roles at The University of Toledo. Working with students and their families is something that Suzanne takes pride and joy in. Helping students navigate through college life and fulfill their academic goals is rewarding to see.
Outside the office, Suzanne enjoys gardening, journaling, crafting, cooking, baking, creating floral designs, entertaining, swimming, and being outside on HOT summer days. Most importantly she enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and fur baby Jewel.

Michelle is originally from Kingston, Jamaica, and is a proud two-time graduate of The University of Toledo, soon to complete her Clinical Mental Health Counseling Certificate. Her passion for student support has shaped her career, including four years as a Success Coach and experiences in K–12 education as a licensed school counselor. For the past seven years, she has served students in higher education through a variety of advising and student-focused roles. She is especially passionate about helping students feel supported, confident, and connected as they work toward their goals.
Outside the office, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family of six, watching movies, listening to audiobooks, and working on puzzles. She values laughter, lifelong learning, and meaningful conversations, and she brings that same warmth and care to her work with students every day.

Abigail Reichert is dedicated to supporting undergraduate students as they navigate their academic journeys and pursue their goals. She brings several years of higher education experience, beginning her career as an Admissions Counselor in 2021. She joined The University of Toledo in 2022, working in the Office of Student Financial Aid before transitioning to academic advising in 2024. A proud Toledo native, Abigail is passionate about serving her local community and contributing to student success at the University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Heidelberg University, double majoring in Communication and Integrated Media with a minor in Psychology, and her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Tiffin University. Abigail is committed to a holistic advising approach, helping students build confidence, empowering students to explore their interests, overcome challenges, and create meaningful academic plans. She is especially committed to building inclusive, supportive relationships and helping students navigate their college experience with confidence. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, wakeboarding, reading, traveling, and being with her fiancé and their dog, Martini.

A UToledo alumnus, Kyle is excited to serve UToledo where he earned his degree and met his wife. He spent three years as a school counselor before transitioning into higher education. Previously, he worked at Auburn Global, supporting international students and leading a student services team committed to white-glove, around-the-clock support. Kyle brings organization and detail orientated focus to the team coupled with genuine care for students and their success. He enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, coaching baseball, playing drums, grilling, watching NASCAR and football, and planning fun annual family vacations.

Heidi has lived in the Toledo area since 2021 after moving from SE Michigan. She completed her undergraduate degree at Adrian College and her graduate degree at Michigan State University. She has spent most of her career in education, with experience spanning across adjunct teaching, admissions, study abroad advising, academic advising, community health education, and teaching junior high English. Heidi loves building relationships with students and guiding them toward their academic and career goals. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, taking art classes, and cheering her children on in all their many artistic and athletic endeavors.

Darlene is from Walbridge, Ohio. She has been at UToledo for 24 years with experience in student areas of recruitment, retention and academic advising. Her master’s degree is in College Student Personnel. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family including her two granddaughters. She loves being outdoors, especially when the weather is nice. Taking walks in the Toledo Metroparks is extremely enjoyable.
