At Toledo Law, our students and alumni strive to make a difference in the world. We believe in the power of service to break down barriers. Graduate Maysaa Ouza made legal history in the U.S. when she became the first Air Force JAG Corps officer permitted to wear a hijab while in uniform. A few years later, law student Damon Williams made college history, when he was named the first Black editor-in-chief of The University of Toledo Law Review.
My hijab is an asset to the Air Force, not a liability. The defining aspect of my character is my unwavering dedication to leading a life of structure and immense discipline. Capitalizing on these characteristics, it made intrinsic sense to serve our country."Capt. Maysaa Ouza
Class of 2017 | Air Force JAG Attorney
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that I have been afforded. Becoming
the first University of Toledo Law Review editor-in-chief with African American heritage
is an amazing milestone, and I am beyond honored. At the same time, I am cognizant
of the fact that this is but a step in, what I hope to be, a continuing process for
The University of Toledo."

Toledo is an ideal city! It’s a big enough city to always have something fun and exciting to do, but still small enough to provide a welcoming and inclusive legal community. I love to run, so exploring Toledo’s various Metroparks and bike trails is one of my favorite things to do. Toledo is a city where I can make an impact in the legal profession.”Nicole Cote
Class of 2021 | Student Bar Association Secretary, Moot Court Fornoff Coordinator
Toledo is a great place to launch your law school experience — or your career in the legal profession. We are located in northwest Ohio, near the Michigan border, and at the intersection of I-75 and I-80/90. Toledo is just an hour's drive away from the Detroit airport and within hours of most of the Midwest’s major cities. That’s important when it comes to fellowships, externships, and job hunting — or when you just need to get away for a weekend.
We get it. You want the best value for your hard-earned dollar and you want to graduate with minimal debt. Toledo Law is an exceptional value. And here's why.
