Political Science and Public Administration

Honors in Political Science

The department offers Honors study both through its involvement with the University-wide honors program and through our own undergraduate program. Those who are likely to have a grade-point average of at least 3.3 by time of graduation are encouraged to apply for departmental honors, which requires a 3.3 GPA and a letter grade of B or better in PSC 4960 Senior Honors Thesis (3 credits).

PSC 3990 Independent Study for Honors (3 credits) and PSC  3900 Honors Seminar (3 credits) are also available for use towards honors and major requirements.

With the guidance of a member of the faculty, students may design a specialized program of study, such as political communications, political economy, political leadership or citizenship.
