The University of Toledo’s John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation hosted its Spring 2022 Job Fair both on-campus and virtually from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Business major and minor students were able to participate in the in-person job fair at the John F. Savage Arena and online via the Handshake Virtual Fair Platform.

A Business Rocket networks with a representative from Savage & Associates.

Over 80 employers attended, with an additional 400+ business students signing up to meet with them.

“The job fair was the perfect venue for me to speak with potential employers about full-time opportunities,” said Katie Chryst, senior majoring in finance and information systems. “Many of the companies in attendance were looking to fill positions in both of these fields. The Business Career Programs Office does a great job bringing in a sizeable selection of employers, from small, family-owned businesses to large, Fortune 500 companies.”

Some of the companies that were looking to hire Business Rockets included 3M, Dana, Owens Corning, ProMedica, Marathon, Savage and Associates and Welltower.

“As always, our business students came well-prepared and engaged,” said Craig Turner, career advisor and employer relations within the Neff College of Business and Innovation’s Business Career Programs Office. “As a result, they are now receiving interview appointments with some of the employers they met.”

Students from UToledo’s Young Executive Scholars (Y.E.S.) Program also attended the job fair. This program consists of high school students from the Jones Leadership Academy of Business of Toledo Public Schools.

Approximately 26 students, along with their principal and school counselor, came to do a walkthrough of the event.

This opportunity allowed them first-time exposure to a college career fair. The students were able to meet employers, gain helpful career advice and experience first-hand the power of networking.

The students were extremely excited about this experience and information technology was a trending topic of conversation amongst those that attended.

The job fair was sponsored by the Neff College of Business and Innovation’s Business Career Programs Office (BCP), which dedicates itself to helping business students acquire internships during their collegiate careers and full-time jobs when they graduate.

This endeavor is all-encompassing, as BCP provides business students with services such as resume critiques, interview coaching, etiquette dinners and assistance with job search strategies.

The John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation’s seven-year average job placement rate is 91.43%.

Business Rockets found great success beginning and furthering their careers at the spring job fair.
