Explore Your Medical Journey at The University of Toledo’s Future Doctors Camp!

Embark on an innovative journey at The Future Doctors Camp designed to inspire and guide aspiring medical professionals. Discover the medical world, gain hands-on experience and ignite your passion for a career in medicine! The camp is open to high school students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year, as well as undergraduate students who are passionate about pursuing a career in medicine.

Camp Details
  • Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 12, 2026
  • Cost: $1,000
  • Camp includes: stethoscopes, supplies, food (continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks), parking and other fun items 
  • No housing will be provided, but lodging is available at the hotel on campus- Delta Hotels Toledo

Registration Process

Spots for the Future Doctors Camp are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Completing the application does not guarantee placement in the camp.

To be considered for participation, students must complete the following steps:

  1. Submit an application
  2. Participate in a brief virtual interview
  3. Complete registration forms and payment information if selected

A participant’s spot is only secured once all required forms and payment have been received. We encourage interested students to apply early, as camp spots may fill before the May 22 application deadline.

What to expect:

  • Immersive Learning. Engage in interactive workshops and simulations at UToledo’s Lloyd A. Jacobs Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center. The sessions will be led by experienced healthcare professionals and physicians in a variety of medical specialties. Dive into real-world medical scenarios and develop procedural skills that will set you apart on your medical journey.
  • Hands-on Experience. Get up close and personal with cutting-edge medical equipment. Learn side-by-side with physicians and professionals how to place an I.V., insert chest tubes, surgical suturing, central line insertion and more. Also practice robotic surgery and how to intubate patients and cast and splint. Immerse yourself in virtual reality and enhance your understanding of anatomy and physiology using Oculus and Anatomage technology.
  • Networking Opportunities. Connect and learn from guest speakers, including physicians and researchers, who will share their insights and experiences.
  • Personalized Guidance. Discover the various pathways within medicine and get expert advice on crafting a successful pre-medical road map. UToledo’s Pre-Health Advising Center supports students throughout their undergraduate academic journey.
  • College Application Insights. Gain valuable insights into the college application process for medical programs. Our camp provides tips on crafting a compelling personal statement, preparing for interviews, and navigating the competitive admissions landscape.
