Solar Eclipse: April 8, 2024

UToledo Solar Eclipse Viewing Event

Join The University of Toledo on Monday, April 8 to view the total solar eclipse from our Main Campus. These events are free and open to the public.

All events will run from 12-4:30 p.m.

Glass Bowl Stadium will offer a prime spot to view the eclipse progress. Please review Glass Bowl rules of conduct and prohibited items before your visit.

  • Gates open at noon
  • Limited concessions will be open
  • Videos explaining the science of eclipse
  • Periodic cuts to NASA’s feed and the view from UToledo’s telescope
  • Live narration of eclipse countdown and progress

Join us in the heart of campus on Centennial Mall for a festival atmosphere, including:

  • Yard games and inflatables
  • Hands-on activities for all ages, including eclipse weather measurements
  • WGTE educational programming
  • Food trucks

On-campus parking is complimentary on a first come, first served basis. Permits will not be enforced on April 8. Disability, metered and reserved spaces will still be enforced. ADA parking is available in Area 18 (Main Campus Map PDF).
