Registration Tips
The following tips will be helpful when registering for classes- you may also refer to the Main Campus Registrar's website for more information:
- You can register on the myUT portal, or in person at Rocket Solution Central in Rocket Hall.
- Remember your MyUT portal login username and password or write it down in a safe, secure place.
- While registering, you may also request or update parking; waive the legal fee; enroll in, change or waive health insurance; and support the Student Green Fund.
- Be aware of PAYMENT DUE dates! You can find these on the Treasurer's website.
- Refer to the Mechanical Engineering Flowcharts and the University Catalog for prerequisites, hours and other information prior to registering.
- You must satisfy all prerequisites before registering for a class. Exceptions are rarely granted and only under extenuating circumstances.
- You must receive written approval from both the course instructor and from the MIME undergraduate program director before registering for a MIME course if you have not met all of the prerequisites.
- You must request a registration permit directly from the instructor if an override is required to register for a non-MIME course.
- Full-time status is 12 - 18 credit hours; you will be charged for each additional hour in excess of 18 hours.
- Do not register for more classes than you can handle; students should not exceed 18 hours in one semester.
- A "T" in the day column of the course schedule represents Tuesday and an"R" represents Thursday. "TR" means that a class meets on both Tuesday and Thursday.
- Make sure your schedule does not contain overlapping or conflicting class times.
- Know what buildings your classes meet in.
- Plan enough time between classes to get from one side of campus to the other, to eat, to study, & etc.
